Checkpoint mapping: two dimensional shard indices use the tile width as row stride · case 02
two dimensional shard indices use the tile width as row stride.
Case contract
For a 2D global shape and tile shape, coord is a tile-grid [row, column] coordinate. Return the row-major flat positions occupied by the tile, or [] if dimensions are negative or the whole tile lies outside the global shape.
Why this case matters
A bounded offline model of checkpoint tensor bookkeeping in a training workflow.
One recorded failure
Sample boundary fixtureThis sample comes from the broken implementation of a controlled reproducer.
| Boundary fixture | Actual | Expected | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| interior tile | [6, 7, 8, 9] | [14, 15, 20, 21] | Failed |
