A context window predicts each token from itself · case 02
A context window predicts each token from itself.
Case contract
For tokens and start, return adjacent pairs whose input indexes are start through len(tokens)-2; negative start clamps to zero.
Why this case matters
A small deterministic token-stream contract makes next-token alignment errors inspectable.
One recorded failure
Sample boundary fixtureThis sample comes from the broken implementation of a controlled reproducer.
| Boundary fixture | Actual | Expected | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| middle window | [[2, 2], [3, 3]] | [[2, 3], [3, 4]] | Failed |
