FA-83181 / Go territory scoring / Open access
The button goes to the last player to pass · case 01
The ending pass, not the first pass, earns the half point.
ROOT CAUSE
The code inspects passes[-1].
THE FAILURE
The code inspects passes[-1].
Unsuccessful approach: Awarding it to whoever passed more often ignores the order of passes.
Case contract
Input [area_b, area_w, passes, komi_tenths]. The first player ever to pass takes the button worth half a point. Return [black_tenths, white_tenths, winner] with winner B, W or draw.
Why this case matters
Go servers and scoring tools compute this value automatically; a wrong answer changes a game result.

HELD IN THE MEMBER ARCHIVE
The verified repair and its recorded checks are member-only.
This mechanism has 8 recorded checks per implementation. The open-access tier publishes the failure and the unsuccessful fix; the repaired source that passes every check, and the observations that prove it, are available to members.
Every case sharing this mechanism uses the same contract and the same repair, so this one record is held back for all of them.
Member access is invitation-based. Sign in with your invited account to inspect the repair.

Small rectangular toy boards given as strings of B, W and dot; a bounded teaching model of one scoring or bookkeeping rule, not a complete rules engine or server implementation. This reproducer isolates one failure mechanism. Results cover the supplied fixtures. Variants within a family share a test contract and should remain grouped when constructing evaluation splits. Related mechanisms with a shared evaluation_group must also remain together; these controlled models are not independent production incidents.
