Case contract

A toy multisample target stores one full image per sample within each layer. Each sample image starts with a five-byte coverage header; layer footer length is seven bytes. Samples are never resolved or averaged. Return the named intermediate layout descriptor and final address fields; all quantities are integer byte offsets unless explicitly stated.
