An If-None-Match list compares complete opaque values · case 01
An If-None-Match list compares complete opaque values.
ROOT CAUSE
The etag-list-not-substring decision uses return [304, ""] if any(t in current for t in requested) else [206,body].
VERIFIED REPAIR
Apply the bounded decision exactly: return [304, ""] if current in requested else [206,body]
Unsuccessful approach: The partial repair uses return [304, ""] if requested and requested[0] == current else [206,body], which still violates the stated contract.
Case contract
Inputs are parsed weak-normalized opaque tag strings. Return 304 if current is a complete member; otherwise return [206,body].
Why this case matters
Range responses combine representation identity, conditional requests, framing, and partial-object state.

Verification & scope
Deterministic simplified range service, with stipulated local policies and already parsed trusted inputs; not a complete HTTP implementation. This reproducer isolates one failure mechanism. Results cover the supplied fixtures. Variants within a family share a test contract and should remain grouped when constructing evaluation splits. Related mechanisms with a shared evaluation_group must also remain together; these controlled models are not independent production incidents.
