ROOT CAUSE

The display-span decision uses `None if d['end'] is None else d['end']-d['start']` instead of the stipulated date-window-editor projection.

VERIFIED REPAIR

Implement the declared display-span projection: `None if d['end'] is None else d['end']-d['start']+1`.

Unsuccessful approach: The attempted correction `0 if d['end'] is None else abs(d['end']-d['start'])+1` still violates the explicit contract fixtures.
